The Maine Criminal Justice Academy’s (MCJA) mandated classes for law enforcement and corrections officers are classes required by the state of Maine as part of the ongoing training and professional development of all law enforcement and corrections officers. The Board of Trustees is required by law to revoke the certificate of any officer who fails to meet these training requirements.

We are committed to providing high-quality, relevant training that meets the needs of Maine’s law enforcement and corrections professionals and helps them to serve their communities effectively with in-person and online MCJA-mandated classes.

Mandated classes cover many important topics, including legal issues, ethical conduct, and professional skills. They are designed to help officers stay up-to-date on the latest best practices and regulations in their field. The specific topics required vary by year and can be found on the MCJA website for both Law Enforcement Officers and Corrections Officers.

We are proud to support the ongoing professional development of Maine’s law enforcement and corrections officers and are dedicated to helping them succeed in their important work.
