Daniel Thompson has almost twenty years of experience in the Fire and EMS community. Dan currently provides pre-hospital care as a full time Paramedic/Firefighter for the City of Portland. Dan is a FEMA fire instructor, State of Maine fire instructor, and also a hazmat technician. Dan teaches annual OSHA safety programs around the state. Dan created the Maine Law Enforcement Phlebotomy Technician Program that is currently used to teach law enforcement officers how to draw blood for evidence during impaired driving investigations. He is credentialed in under water evidence recovery through York County. Dan enjoys creating classes based on current trends and his instructor qualifications allow him to share his knowledge at local, state and federal levels. Dan is a very personable and energetic instructor who draws from his field experience when teaching. Recently Dan received a letter of commendation from Senator Susan Collins for his efforts to protect the State’s roadways from dangerous drivers through Tactical Services, LLC which runs the OUI blood evidence collection in the state. The law enforcement phlebotomy program is the only certified OUI blood evidence training program in the State of Maine.
