SUMMARY:Grant Research & Writing Basics
DESCRIPTION:Instructor:\nFrank Jones BA\, MA \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Grant Research & Writing Basics\nMay 13 @ 8:00 am – 4:00 pm\nAs we face continuing inflation and economic concerns throughout the nation\, public safety departments may be facing shrinking budgets. It is imperative to seek alternative funding measures\, such as grants from the public and private sectors. We all know that some grants\, and the relative funding opportunities\, have been eliminated and/or cut back\, but our course instructor is confident that this is temporary and the “funds will flow” again. It’s important for you and your department to have an edge on how to access and apply for those funds when that happens. This course will teach the basics of getting started in the grant research\, writing\, and acceptance process.  \nCourse Objectives: \n\nResearch for a wide array of grant opportunities (public and private).\nEstablish an account with the Federal agencies that govern grant funding.\nProperly write various types of grants.\nWhat to expect post grant acceptance/award.\nWhat to “watch and monitor” for public and private funding opportunities.\n\nEquipment Needed: \n\nNotetaking materials\nLaptop or device that can access the Internet
