SUMMARY:Grant Research & Writing Basics
DESCRIPTION:Instructor:\nFrank Jones BA\, MA \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Grant Research & Writing Basics\nAugust 11 @ 8:00 am – 4:00 pm\nAs we face sporadic and regional inflationary and economic concerns throughout the nation\, public safety departments may be facing restricted operating budgets. It is imperative to seek alternative funding measures\, such as grants from the public and private sectors. This course will teach the basics of getting started in the grant research\, writing\, and post award process. This course is intended for first time grant writers but will include the review of an actual fully funded grant for more than $600\,000.00 as a learning instrument. \nCourse Objectives: \n\nResearch for a wide array of grant opportunities (public and private).\nEstablish an account with the Federal agencies that govern grant funding.\nProperly write various types of grants.\nWhat to expect post grant acceptance/award.\nWhat to “watch and monitor” for public and private funding opportunities.\n\nEquipment Needed: \n\nNotetaking materials\nLaptop or device that can access the Internet
