Mass shootings are becoming more frequent across the United States and it is imperative law enforcement and first responders are armed with the knowledge to respond to such incidents.
This training is designed to give law enforcement officers and other criminal justice professionals an overview of the challenges and intricacies of responding to and investigating mass shooting incidents.
Instructor, Retired Detective Sergeant Robert “Sully” Sullivan, of the San Bernardino Police Department, will give a first-hand account and in-depth overview of the December 2nd, 2015, terrorism motivated mass shooting at the Inland Regional Center, in San Bernardino, California. This horrific terrorist attack left 14 people dead and 21 others wounded. Sully hopes to best prepare other law enforcement officers by sharing his experiences as a first responder on that tragic day. Sully served at the San Bernardino Police Department for close to 24 years, most recently as the Detective Sergeant of the Homicide Division.
Upon completion of this training, students will be able to supplement their own existing active shooter training to better respond, save innocent lives and successfully investigate mass shooting incidents.
