Effective prosecution increases the public’s perception that they will be caught (and convicted) if they commit OUI and increases general deterrence\, preventing OUI before it happens. \nAt this training you will learn what you need to know to effectively prosecute OUI charges. In addition to learning about common defenses\, motions to suppress\, and effective opening statements and closing arguments in impaired driving cases\, you can also expect to hear about field sobriety testing from certified SFST instructors and about chemical testing\, including the Intoxilyzer\, from Maine’s Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory.
