FTO Supervisors

This course is designed for law enforcement personnel tasked with supervising their agency’s Field Training Program, offering a clear understanding of the Field Training Supervisor’s vital role. Participants will learn how to effectively manage program structure, ensure documentation accuracy, and maintain strong communication between FTO staff and agency leadership. The class also focuses on resolving training challenges and interpersonal conflicts to support both field trainers and probationary officers. By the end of this training, supervisors will be equipped to lead a successful and accountable FTO program.

Course Objectives:

• Provide effective management and oversight of the agency’s Field Training Program.
• Coordinate scheduling, structure, and overall organization of field training operations.
• Identify training issues or conflicts and implement constructive solutions.
• Ensure accurate review and completion of all field training documentation and records.
• Facilitate consistent communication between FTO staff, leadership, and other agency personnel.
