This course focuses on stopping severe bleeding and sustaining life until medical help arrives. It covers hemorrhage types (capillary, venous, arterial), the M.A.R.C.H. protocol (Massive Hemorrhage with tourniquets in hot zones, Airway via head tilt/NPA, Respiration with chest seals, Circulation using direct pressure/hemostatic gauze for junctional wounds, Hypothermia prevention with blankets), wound packing using wound cube simulation, Body Substance Isolation (BSI) for biohazard protection, leadership under stress (decide, adapt, lead/follow, breathe), vigilant mindset for awareness, IFAK contents (e.g., CAT tourniquets, chest seals, gloves), recommended TQ brands, and emphasis on training to mitigate risks.
Course Objectives:
- Identify and classify injury types to prioritize interventions.
- Apply tourniquets properly.
- Implement BSI protocols.
- Follow M.A.R.C.H. protocol for trauma care.
- Demonstrate stress leadership.
- Maintain vigilant awareness.
- Interact effectively with co-responders.
- Assemble and use an IFAK.
