Instructional Goal:

The goal of this unit of instruction is to equip officers with the skills needed to identify possible victims of human trafficking, provide victim-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices when investigating human trafficking cases, and familiarize officers with local resources to support victims.

Performance Objectives:

  • Identify two different forms of human trafficking, and at least two common risk factors.
  • List at least three barriers that victims face.
  • Describe at least three potential indicators of human trafficking and three approaches to assessment.
  • List at least three best practices for investigations of human trafficking
  • Name at least two available resources to either assist in your investigation or assist survivors of human trafficking.
