Dennis is a 30 year law enforcement veteran of the Maine Warden Service and the New Hampshire State Police. He began his career with the Maine Warden Service in 1993 and was stationed in both Gray and Houlton. As a game warden he was part of the incident management team, the Warden Service forensic lab and the honor guard.
In 1998 was hired by the NH State Police and assigned to Troop F in Coos County. As a Trooper he patrolled the northern, rural part of the state. He was promoted to sergeant and after 26 years, retired as lieutenant, commanding the State Police Marine Patrol Unit. During his career he held roles as FTO & FTO supervisor, drug recognition expert, dispatch supervisor and police academy cadre.
Dennis was a member of the State Police Drill Team (color guard) for 23 years and was the commander of the unit for 12 years, focusing on training, professionalism and military decorum. He was an instructor for the Delaware State Police Honor Guard School. During his time with the Drill Team, he participated in over 200 events, including police academy graduations, the NH Police Memorial, NH Governor inaugurations, Congressional ceremonies, and games for the Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, Tampa Bay Rays and NASCAR, as well as other high profile events. His time on the team also included the assisting in and planning of honors for fallen officers and their families, being part of eight level-one services and numerous other services for retired law enforcement officers.
Dennis is a graduate of the University of Maine and lives in northern New Hampshire with his wife and has three children.
