Patrick Hood

Law Enforcement Policy Review

Patrick joined Dirigo Safety in the fall of 2023 after retiring from a 25-year career with the Maine State Police.  He served as the Commanding Officer of the Central Field Troop for the past 5 years overseeing the work of a 28-member Troop that covered 7 Counties.  Prior to that assignment, he was a patrol Sergeant in Troop D for 8 years.  The first 12 years of his career as a Trooper were spent patrolling Knox County.

Patrick served on the Maine State Police Tactical Team for 8 years and then the Maine State Police Pipe and Drum Unit for the following 12 years.  He was also a longtime member of the Maine Council for Elder Abuse Prevention since its inception in 2011.

Patrick is a graduate of the University of Maine with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.  He resides in Union with his wife Mandy and their two high-school-aged children Braelyn and Wyatt.
