Dingo Safety is pleased to announce Bob Schwartz is joining our team!

Bob will be involved in all Law Enforcement Sales and several new law enforcement support projects that we are excited to announce soon. He comes to us with a vast amount of police experience and knowledge.

Bob recently retired as the Executive Director of the Maine Chiefs of Police Association, where he managed the day-today operations of the association. His duties included coordinating a membership of 350+ of Maine’s Chiefs, Sheriffs, and other executives. Additionally, he completed department evaluations as requested by municipalities, and was responsible for budget planning and administration, including all financial business of the association.

Before being the Executive Director of the Maine Chief of Police Association, Bob was the Chief of Police for the City of South Portland. There, he managed a police department for a city of 24,000 residents with a daytime population as high as 75,000+ due to the Maine Mall and major employers such as Unum, Blue Cross, and National Semiconductor.

Chief Schwartz directed a staff of 55 sworn officers, and managed a budget of $1.9 million, was responsible for formulating all policies, rules and procedures, planning, organization, staffing, labor relations, and workplace safety among others. He also oversaw the development and implementation of numerous community policing programs, some requiring grant writing. These programs included a landlord training program (for 500+ people) focusing on drug issues and safety hazards, the creation and distribution of a business safety handbook, the start-up of the first Cop collectibles program in the eastern U.S., initiation of a multi-task K-9 unit, development of the city’s first D.A.R.E program, and formation of the City’s drug enforcement unit.
