The IADLEST Nationally Certified Instructor Program (INCI) was launched in 2018 by IADLEST to acknowledge and recognize the Nation’s top instructors. These exceptional individuals exhibit exemplary “best practices” in training delivery by receiving high recommendations from POST and Academy Directors, and maintaining their training proficiency by enrolling in continuing professional education instructor coursework. Interested officers, peace officers, sheriff deputies, correction officers, detention officers, telecommunicators, analysts, academic instructors, private trainers, and others keen on enhancing law enforcement training and personal instructional skill sets are welcome to join the program.
To maintain certification, every two years, each National Instructor is required to complete six (6) hours of instructor training/development continuing education. These training hours can be obtained by attending conferences such as IADLEST, ILEETA, and IALEFI, as well as other POST/State training related to instructional development.
